I have a BS in Electrical Engineering and a MS in Telecommunications I am now retired after a 32 year career with the company now known as AT&T (originally the Southwestern Bell Telephone company). I have been involved in Genealogy since 1999, focusing on mother’s German branch and father’s Norwegian ancestors. I am also an avid amateur photographer and have made numerous presentations on a variety of technology related topics.
I have been active in the Dallas Genealogical Society as the leader of their Technology Special Interest Group, Vice President of Education, Webmaster, President and Past President. The web site I managed has won several first place awards in the Texas State Genealogical Society’s ‘Partner Society Website Design’ annual competition.
I am currently the Director of Membership for the Texas State Genealogical Society.
In addition, I have received several genealogy related awards:
- ‘Volunteer of the Year’ from the Dallas Genealogical Society in 2010
- ‘Volunteer of the Year’ from the Texas State Genealogical Society in 2015
- ‘Heritage Preservation Award’ from the Dallas Genealogical Societies in 2017
- ‘President’s Special Award’ from the Dallas Genealogical Society in 2018
- ‘Award of Merit’ from the Dallas Genealogical Society in 2019
- ‘Presidential Citation’ award from the Texas State Genealogical Society in 2020 and 2021
- First Place – ‘Genealogy/Family Website by an Individual’ – 2022 – Texas State Genealogical Society
