This portion of my website is a living repository for the research I have (and continue to do) about my family.
- The Maternal section deals with my mothers German branch. All four of her grandparents emigrated from Germany, and I am currently focused on determining where they came from and how they got here, so that is how I have chosen to create a page for each set of her grandparents.
- The Paternal section focuses on my fathers parents who each emigrated from Norway. Each of their families have deep geographical roots so I have chosen to create a web page for their parents (a generation closer than my mother’s branch of the family).
- The Geography section deals with locations that played a significant role in the lives of both families.
- The DNA section provides information of interest to matches for Y, Mitochondrial and Autosomal DNA tests.
I maintain a copy of my entire family tree on RootsWeb. I upload my GEDCOM file several times a year to keep this information somewhat current, so if you want to dig into specifics I encourage you to look there.
I am also creating a tree for my direct line using the FamilySearch Family Tree (You will need an account – there are no fee’s – to view the information). I strongly encourage all who are researching my family to use this platform to document proven relationships and facts as I feel that it is the best way to insure that the information we discover is preserved and made available present and future researchers.
