Birth

Believed to have been born about 1696 in Nesna, Nordland to John Stenersen and Marit Hendricksen (I do not have any documents that prove this relationship).

Marriage

Married to Karen Isachsen 2 July 1735 in Nesna, Nordland, Norway (I do not have records that document this marriage).  She died in 1750.

Marred to Anna Andersdatter after 1750 (I do not have records that document this marriage).

Birth

This is the record of his birth (second entry, left hand page) in Nesna, Nordland, Norway in 1748 to Steener Jonsen and Karen Isachsen. With translation assistance, I am told that it says “Steener Jonsen Huglen‘s child Isack“. Hugla is an island just to the West of Nesna, so this probably indicates that Steener and his family were probably living there at the time of Isak’s birth.

His baptism record is also available on FamilySearch: it identifies his parents as Steener Jonsen and Karen Isachsdr.

He married Kersten Nielsdatter on 16 July 1775 in Nesna, Nordland, Norway

Birth

This is the record of his birth (first entry) in Nesna, Nordland, Norway in 1783 to Isak Steenerson and Kirstin Nielsdatter.

FamilySearch also has a record of his baptism that identifies his parents as Steener Jonsenand Karen Idachsdr.

He is also recorded in the 1801 Norwegian Census living at home with his parents (Isach Stenerssen and Kirstin Nilsdatter).

Marriage

Lars Isaksen Stereo married (see the entry in the middle of the left hand page) Ingeborg Hansdatter in Nesna, Nordland, Norway in 1817.

Birth

The church records in Nesna, Nordland, Norway begin recording individual births in 1820, several years after it is believed that Isak Johan was born. However, he is listed in an entry in the Chronological List dated April 12, 1818 (it is the second to last entry on the bottom of the right hand side) maintained from 1721 to 1820 that says:

“Isach Johan, baptized at 7 weeks, born to married couple Lars Isachsen & Ingeborg Hansdatter of Stero – witnesses: Elen Kirstina Stokke, Ane Isachsdatter Skagga?, Anders Michelsen Stokka, Lars Gabrielsen ibid., Peder Olsen Stero.” (Translation courtesy of Robert N Barbara Andersen from the Norwegian Genealogy Facebook Group.)

This information puts his probable date of birth somewhere in the last week of February, 1818.

Family Search has a record of the Baptism of Isach Johan Larsen, a male born in 1818 (christened 12 April 1818) in Nesna, Nordland, Norway to Lars Isachsen and Ingeborg Hansdr.

  • According to his birth record, (Male entry number 68) he was born on July 4, 1853 in Nesna, Nordland, Norway to Johan Larsen and Maren Christiane Andersdatter.
  • The birth record in the copy of the Parish Record (entry number 47) spells his first name as ‘Emahus’ and identifies his father as Isak Johan Larsen, his mother as Maren Chr. Andersdatter and identifies the farm (Herset).

Hans Isakson married (see entry number 28) Inger Heline Andersdatter in Nesna, Nordland, Norway on 22 November, 1880. The church record indicates that he was born in 1853.

  • According to his birth record (Male entry number 24) he was born April 25, 1886 on the Handaa farm in Nesna, Nordland, Norway to Hans Isaksen (b. 1853) and Inger Andersdatter (b. 1857).
  • The birth record in the copy of the Parish Record (entry number 41) lists his name and Anton Edvard and identifies his father as Hans Emaus Isaksen (b. 1845) and Inger Helena Andersdatter (b. 1857)

According to his birth certificate his father was Anton E. Hanson and his mother was Marie Dahl.

Although…. My fathers first name was not recorded on his birth certificate. This is something I would like to correct, but I need to find an official document that specifies his name that was created when he was 18 years old or younger and I have not yet been able to locate one.

Arnold William Hanson married Ann Lorraine Amborn in Hannibal, Marion, Missouri on 21 March 1943.
